Guess what, kiddos?! I’m DONE working at the pool. You’d think it wouldn’t be too bad – unfortunately, the internal structure is really lousy and no one cares about anything (including supervisors, the pool manager, etc.)…and after about 20 minutes of “training” yesterday, I was put to work as a Pool Attendant: greeting guests, handing out towels, and cleaning up the deck. Damn, I’m lucky. Today, I was duly rewarded – no, not in tips, that was yesterday and I got a whole $3, today I just couldn’t be bothered to try since I get paid decently enough either way – but I stumbled upon two room keys…meaning, now I can get into the pool at my leisure (you need to flash the key to security in order to get in). A picture of the uniform is yet to come, don’t worry.

Today, I also had an awkward moment that provided Eric & I a lot of laughter. I wore business casual to work today with my pointy-toed, 3-inch stilettos because I had a meeting to go to before heading out to the pool. Well, I went downstairs to uniform control to change and forgot my sneakers in my office, so I’m wearing my heels with the pool uniform and have to walk ALL the way back up to the office – past the Employee Dining Room (high traffic area) and through the downstairs bellmen lounge area…needless to say, I got a lot of “head-to-toe” looks and a few comments here and there, and a lot of laughing from Eric…and an invite to go out for drinks next week with some of the bellmen.

Everyone says I’m a hot commodity at the rate that I pick up guys. I beg to differ – I’m not a commodity, I’m a luxury…so there!
