…which means “black wasp” in Dutch (duh) – thank Justin Fleming for my car’s name.

As promised, I’m putting up a picture or two from the damage that was. My parents drove my car up last weekend and it’s all fixed and wonderful (albeit caked in dirt and really gross-looking) and I’m mobile again! I must say, this city is CRAZY to drive in – and that coming from an aggressive driver! The Strip itself is horrible to navigate (but not impossible) and I haven’t really been other places around Las Vegas to figure my way around. I really should take my car to get it washed, but it was raining earlier this week and my luck is every time I wash my car, it rains shortly thereafter, so I’m a little hesitant.

Let’s see – oh, I’ll also introduce you to a few peeps up here, because I can. I only just got my camera the other day when my parents came, so most of these pictures come from other interns (there’s about 50 of us, maybe half live in the dorm – er, residence hall – and we’re spread out across maybe ten or so different MGM Mirage properties (they control half the strip; the other half belongs to Harrah’s, which includes Tropicana, Flamingo, Caesar’s Palace, Bally’s, etc.). So below is me (obviously), Eric (the other Bellagio intern), Liz (Mandalay Bay), Ally (NY NY), and Becky (Mandalay). We all live on campus, with the exception of Ally – but surprisingly, I don’t see the girls much during the week.
