I was doing so well posting! ..and then I just stopped. Boo.

Anyways, I’m feeling a lot like B! ..only not. I’m definitely thrilled to get back to Tucson and see you all. I miss you TONS, duh. At first, I thought that it was going to be really weird getting back to school after working, and it’s going to be my last semester and all that. But then I realized it isn’t. It’s familiar, it’s awesome, and you guys are going to be there! I’m sure we’re just going to share our summer adventures and it will be like nothing had changed. It really is going to be weird graduating, though.

At the same time, it does still really suck that I’m leaving my friends here. I think we’re going to do something at work for my leaving, which will be cool, but we’re also going to have a Jen’s Last Knit Night party on Tuesday at Yarn Cravin’. It just sucks that this is the point of my friendship with these people where I’m REALLY starting to click. I mean, we’ve been friends all summer, but we’ve gotten a lot closer in the past week or two. Uh. Last night we ate ice cream for dinner. HEALTHY!

I’m dying to see you all..and I will return on the 16th. My mom’s staying the night, but then I will be free free free! We’ll do stuff. It will rock. The end.

I don’t really know what in particular to say, but my weekend has been great!

Per my usual Saturday, I hung out at Yarn Cravin’ all day yesterday.  Not per my usual Saturday..I learned how to spin!  That’s right, I made that yarn up there out of combed wool.  :o D

After closing time, Sarah and I went and hung out at Dale Ann’s for a while.  Knitting, spinning, pizza eating, beer drinking, and vacation picture sharing ensued.

Today is my mom’s birthday!  I finished her socks in time, yay!  The post office didn’t deliver them in time, boo.  I paid extra, and he said they’d be there by yesterday or maybe even Friday!  What a freakin’ liar.

I miss you all terribly, of course.  It did strike me yesterday while at YC with my friends here, however, that I may never live here again.  I will have spent 2 1/2 months being miserable/happy/confused/whatever, and I’ve met some new people that I really have a connection with.  If I never come back, at least I know that Ravelry (I like to call it Facebook for knitters) will keep us in touch, and I would definitely love to come back for a visit.

Not to get all philosophical or anything, but I’m really starting to feel as though this summer’s experience has taught me a lot more about people and relationships than it has about business or engineering.  It’s just something to think about.  I’m sure I’ve told you all before that I don’t really like meeting new people..but I LOVE getting to know them.

I just had to share this shot with you.  I’ve been growing these basil plants since I’ve been here.  The bastards are probably not even an inch tall!  I’m tempted to just throw them out, honestly.  In any case, this is a prime demonstration of climate differences.  Have you ever seen mold grow on the outside of a pot in Arizona?

PS: I think I’m going to have to get a Flickr pro account.

Hi y’all!  I hope you are all well.  I love hearing your crazy stories.  ..especially the ones about B and strange men.  ;o)  I am doing well, keeping busy, making friends, etc.  Renee and Milner are going to be here on Thursday for the 4th, so that should be really exciting!  I just need to, you know..think of stuff for us to do.

I’m sure you’ll all be really proud to know that I finished my first ever sweater!  It’s a cardigan.

Yeah, it’s a beast.  I’m really proud of it..with the exception of the huge shoulders.  But whatever!  That’s also my awesome new camera, by the way.

Also this weekend..I went out for Mexican (gross) food with Sarah and Dale Ann.  I don’t know why, but I get the impression that people here are obsessed with Mexican food..if you want to call it that.  Afterwards, Sarah and I went to her house for a while to hang out/hang out with her dog.  It was a pretty good time.  You know, until her dog bit me!  He’s terrifying, but at only 10 pounds, I guess it could’ve been worse.  He’s pretty cute for a vicious orange monster, though, right?  :o )  We didn’t get to hang out and chat much, me being too terrified (Jesus, I am a wuss) to focus on anything but the dog, but we did take him for a walk, and Sarah’s neighborhood is MAGIC.  I’ve only noticed a few fireflies around mine, but hers was just alive with them.  It was very..enchanted.  Along the way, we encountered a little girl dog.  She was one of those teeny tiny teacup Yorkies, and the dogs were so cute playing together!

This morning, I got up early to go to Target an obtain a copy of Wii Fit.  Unfortunately, I did not get up early enough, as by the time I got there, all of the tickets had been handed out for the 12 copies they had.  Damn!  I did, however, snag the very last copy of Mario Kart!  I’m really excited, but I’m willing to bet a lot of today gets dedicated to making my mom’s birthday socks..as it’s only 2 weeks away and I’m only 4 rows in.

Tonight I intend to make a whole chicken.  Yeah, for myself.  :o X  It’s alright, though, because I’m going to have mad leftovers!!

I hope you’re all having awesome weekends.  Give me a call if you get bored; you know I’d love to chat!

For the record, I’m still really sore today.  Hopefully, it’s better when I have to wake up for work tomorrow.  In addition, I feel like you all should know some of the joy of living in a wetter climate.  The sweaty, disgusting clothes I threw in the hamper two nights ago?  Still damp!

Mia and I got a chance to video chat for a really long time yesterday, and it was AWESOME!  ..now when are the rest of you going to buy Macs?  We more or less watched the Bellmont together.  It was really boring, and all they did was talk about this one jockey’s child with Usher Syndrome.  As if that had anything to do with the race.  I don’t know if anyone else but Dave caught it, a horse with 38:1 odds won.  Outrageous.  Still boring.  The race is only like a minute long, but they have coverage for an hour or so beforehand!

I would just like to take this moment to point out that my blogging style is equally as random as my life..in case you hadn’t noticed.

There was a wicked thunderstorm today!  Kind of.

It looks pretty vicious, doesn’t it?  Look at those big black clouds!  Well, it basically passed over me with minimal rumbling and about 2 minutes of rain.  At least I had the amusement of seeing people hurriedly rushing away from the pool?  But seriously, I have no complaints about the weather unless there’s a tornado.

Other than that, today was full of laundry, cooking, knitting, and a bit of distress, but I guess we’re all good now.  Dave is coming to visit on Wednesday!  Old people are ruining my life.  The end.

Hey kids! Ohio is..scary! It’s tornado season, and I live on the second floor. I had a warning in my county last night, but I didn’t really know what to do. Awesome. Don’t worry, I’m alive (obviously).

At least I’m making more friends! Last night, I went to play indoor soccer with some people from work. I learned at least 2 things. #1 I’ve got a bit of Ivan Radenovic Syndrome. #2 I am just as out of shape as I thought I was. I am pathetically sore for having played one 40 minute game. Even my lungs hurt from breathing too hard. But my team won, and I got to meet a lot of people that I wouldn’t have otherwise. One girl graduated from UA in 2005! It’s really funny how much different work people seem when we’re not at work. I just feel so much more comfortable around them in a social setting. I’m not really sure of what that says about me, but whatever.

I am also incredibly embarrassed to admit that I love the new Coldplay song, “Violet Hill.”  It sounds a lot different than their other stuff, and before they release their new album, they’re streaming it online for free, so I’m checking it out right now.  Not all of the songs I’ve heard so far are as good, but I would say they’re all a completely different style than previous Coldplay endeavors.  I (reluctantly) approve.

I wish I had some kind of picture to show you guys! I haven’t really taken any this week. ..except of knitting, but you all know where to find that. ;o)

Hey kids! I’m glad to hear that you’re all doing well in your respective places around the country/world. Except for B, that is. ;oP Maybe she’ll post from the coffeehouse SOMEDAY. In any case, life in Ohio is good, if a little lonely. I think it’s getting better every day, though.

I made you this:

Work has been a lot more interesting this week so far, with a few training classes, a few projects, and the small comfort of already knowing people (or at least already knowing their names). Like I said before, everyone here is really nice, including the people at work. I think they’re having a lot of fun getting to know me too. But how could you not when I say things like “I’m hard like Fity Cent”?  Yeah. I said that. At work. Just wait until they find out I swear like a sailor.

Tonight was knitting night again! I love to go there and hang out with the knitting ladies. They’re extremely fun and basically hilarious. It’s too bad I’ve cornered myself into going to a baseball game with people from work when Dave is here. I’m sure he would’ve enjoyed going to the same game with them for “Stitch & Pitch” night much more, right?

<3!

By the way, if you get bored or just want to laugh your ass off, go check out Sarah’s blog about Africa. It’s..dank.

Hey dudes! In case you didn’t already know, I made it to Ohio alright. I’ve actually been here since Wednesday, getting all settled and what not. It’s pretty awesome! I’ve been anxiously waiting to write y’all, though.

I hung out with my mom (here we are at Lake Erie):

There’s a river (I know it’s hard for us Arizonans to understand but it’s water IN THE WILD):

And I even made some new friends (they’re talking to me through the window right now, in fact):

Anyways, I miss you all (duh). I’m having a great time, though. Today was really exciting..not only my first day of work, but also my first knitting night! I got to walk through 2 huge factories, and it’s really interesting. I also get a name badge..and a 3 hour physical. It’s all about safety, yo. <3
